St Mary’s School has exceptional facilities which encompass academic, cultural, sports and spiritual aspects of the School.

Academic

In recent years, some additional facilities have been added.

The Desmond Tutu Centre for Natural Sciences which comprises six superbly equipped laboratories and six teaching venues was completed in 2004. This has resulted in an increase in interest in the sciences at St Mary’s.

The Edge is a state-of-the-art facility with a 530 seat concert hall or theatre, natural light Art studios, music practice rooms and loud practice rooms, dramatic art venues and a superbly fitted dance studio, provides our girls the facilities required to extend their creativity.

St Mary’s has a fully wireless campus with interactive white boards in most of the classrooms to facilitate visual learning.

The Clare Rossouw Media Centre was opened in 2006. The Media Centre is named after Clare Rossouw who was Headmistress of the Junior School from 1985 to 1997. This Centre comprises a 90 seat auditorium, an extensive age-specific library and notebook computers for research purposes. There is also a Reading Room for the Junior Primary classes. A versatile display area allows various books and current affairs interests to be showcased.
