Environment Club

At St Mary’s we take the environment seriously and founded The Green Thinkers,the Junior School Environmental Club in 2009. The meetings occur once a week and the main aim it to encourage the girls, the School and parent body to take care of the environment. This is done by highlighting important environmental days during the year and by encouraging reducing, re-using and recycling waste, at School and at home. Our theme this year is ‘it begins with you!’

To save electricity and water, the Club has placed signage on each light switch and bathroom tap. A recycling campaign is underway with brightly coloured bins for the sole purpose of recycling waste as a whole School initiative and the recycling of paper, plastic, tin and glass will be encouraged. There is no charge for this activity.
