AFTER HALF TERM, FROM 8 JULY, ONLY NETBALL SESSIONS WILL CHANGE TO CROSS COUNTRY.

School-based activities (no cost involved)

  • Arts and crafts
    During this session the girls have the opportunity to express themselves creatively in a stimulating and relaxed environment. Individuality is encouraged and various media are used. Examples of activities include origami, painting, beading, mosaics and collages. This is on a first come first serve basis (20 max). Please sign up on list on Junior Primary notice board.
  • Chess
    Girls from Grade1 to Grade 3 who would like to learn chess are most welcome to attend. We also have more advanced players and the girls play a friendly match against another school once a term.
  • Grade 3 Music
    These are 30 minute compulsory timeslots where children are exposed to instruments in group lessons, free of charge. These lessons take place on a Tuesday
  • Knitting
    Girls will be introduced to basic knitting skills. Maximum number of children is 10. Sign up on list on Junior Primary notice board

Privately-run activities (cost involved)

  • Kumon
    Kumon helps children to grow and improve their skills in both mathematics and English. Please contact Mrs Channon on 083 325 3884 or 011 481 5863 .
  • Pottery
    Pottery is a fun extra-curricular activity that develops creativity and fine motor co-ordination. The techniques of pinching, modelling and slab making are covered and a variety of objects are made. Girls also have the opportunity to decorate their items and take them home.   • Ballet
    Children are prepared in Grades 0 and 1 for the Pre-Primary and Primary Presentation Class in the Royal Ballet Academy of Dance. The girls in Grade 2 and up are prepared for graded examinations in the Royal Academic of Dance. Children also participate in The Concours ballet. They are also prepared for the badge tests which are conducted by the National Society of Dance Teachers. Contact Mrs Jane Pick 083 261 4732
  • Drama
    Creative Drama is a fun and relaxing class where the girls can explore their imagination through creative play. Drama helps to boost self-confidence and promotes good group work skills. Once a year we work towards a performance where the girls can show off what they have learnt. Payment for lessons must occur within the first two weeks of the term.   • Dance
    A dynamic and varied dance programme is now offered in the Junior School. Any girl who is interested in dance is welcome irrespective of skill or experience. Each term we will focus on a specific style of dance from Hip Hop to Ballroom. Girls may wear clothes such us a St Mary’s tracksuit, sports kit or leotards.   • Intro golf
    We introduce children to the game of golf. Intro golf is a life skills development programme that enhances leadership, confidence, social interaction, responsibility, respect, independence and physical development. Please contact Heather Sacks on 082 787 7137.
  • Kindermusik
    "Kindermusik is the world's most trusted brand in musical learning. Kindermusik is backed with more than 30 years of experience and research into early childhood development. These age appropriate, interactive programs are designed for the development of language and literacy skills, social and emotional skills, mathematical skills and pattern recognition skills, fine and large motor skills and music ability.
