This facility provides superb opportunities for learning beyond the classroom. Kloofwaters is an outdoor centre set in a beautiful, tranquil wilderness area, 100 km from Johannesburg or Pretoria. The 300 hectare property includes small game, spectacular rock formations and kloofs, wonderful bird-life and interesting Tswana Iron-Age ruins. A clear mountain stream flows through the lower part of the property, with pools for swimming and sliding, and four small dams.
Grades 4 to 7 spend time at Kloofwaters each year, following the age-specific programmes designed by experienced camp counsellors. They are exposed to hiking, bird-watching, climbing and exploring which extends their experiential learning. In addition to the wide-ranging activities offered, girls are provided with the opportunity to interact with others and demonstrate their versatility and leadership skills.
