Athletics

All children participate in the Interhouse athletics which marks the end of the season. During Physical Education lessons, girls are taught the various disciplines from the athletics curriculum.

The athletics team competes at various Inter-School events throughout the season and the team comprises Grade 3 to Grade 7 girls. Athletics can accommodate only a limited number of team participants. However, we encourage any girl wishing to train with the team to attend athletics training in the extra-curricular time slot in the afternoons. The Grade 7 or Open girls take part in all disciplines, which include 800m, 200m, 100m, hurdles, relay, long jump and high jump and the Grade 3 girls compete in 80m, long jump and relay events. The annual Prestige Inter-School event is highly contested and all eight girls’ schools which take part in athletics go head-to-head for the prestigious first place.
