This year St Mary’s proceeded to embrace her slogan, ‘In a class of its own’, by undertaking an innovative task of creating an original film instead of the traditional school play.  This bold initiative was headed by our very own Barry Strydom, film director. 

Before filming could commence, the girls had to attend various workshops over the first three weeks of February.  Assistant directing, cinematography, lighting, sound, make-up, wardrobe, set-dressing and acting were addressed by professionals in each field of expertise. 

Weeks of filming and even more weeks of editing followed. And then on a cold winter evening the filmed premiered, in true Hollywood style, with the stars and invited guests arriving on the red carpet.

The verdict:  Fabulous!  St Mary’s created a film ‘In a class of its own’.
