The Resource Centre equips students with lifelong learning skills and develops the imagination, enabling them to live as responsible citizens. We provide print and electronic resources that enable all members of the School community to become critical thinkers and effective users of information in all formats and media.
Girls are taught research skills, including correct referencing procedures and bibliographies. St Mary’s boasts our online book club.
In addition, teachers work closely with the Resource Centre staff when setting assignments and the staff provide a wide range of research material for the students to access. We are aware of the importance of current affairs and topical awareness. Daily and weekly newspapers and academic magazines are available in our cosy reading area. The Resource Centre plans special exhibitions for Heritage Day, National Library Week to name a few.
