The St Mary’s Samaritans form part of the School’s extensive Community Affairs programme. The primary focus of SAMS is to collect various items including goodies for Easter, blankets, non-perishable foods, toiletries and Christmas hampers. We aid organizations such as Reach for a Dream, Tape Aids for the Blind, Kitty and Puppy Haven, CANSA, the Irwin Animal Rescue Centre, the Salvation Army and various other schools, old age homes and orphanages.
As part of the Leadership Programme, several Form IV girls represent SAMS and they keep the School informed regarding details of each collection. Every girl in the School has an opportunity to contribute to the community through the various annual SAMS drives. The generosity of the St Mary’s family enables SAMS to help, comfort and encourage many people every year.
